Laurence Dauphinais and Maxime Carbonneau talk about the process of creating the show Siri. For two years, they have conversed with the artificial intelligence Siri to familiarize themselves with her programming. Should we give more freedom to artificial intelligence or fear these non-biological entities?

 

9th - Producing Transmission

Transmission is a distributed performance integrating traditional and site-specific live theatre, immersive media, and a companion podcast experienced through a mobile application taking the audience across a future and parallel Edinburgh. The #Unshamed project is a digital display of solidarity with victims of malicious online shaming. The team behind the project and FuturePlay show; Shame discuss the campaign with some special guests sharing their own #Unshamed stories.

This series of short talks offers a glimpse into the near future of a society without money and biological civil war. Designers from Edinburgh College of Art present prototypes and visions of a grave new world from the Design Informatics Pavilion.
