How do I book tickets?

You can book tickets to FuturePlay events through these channels.

Box Office: Tickets can be purchased in person from the FuturePlay Box Office located on George Street outside the Assembly Rooms or at any Assembly, Gilded Balloon, Pleasance & Underbelly Box Office.

 

Tickets to any Edinburgh Festival Fringe event can also be purchased at the FuturePlay Box Office on George Street. Note: a booking fee of 90p per ticket (up to a maximum of £5.40) is applied to all telephone and online bookings.

 

Where can I collect tickets?

 

Tickets booked online or over the phone can be collected in person from the FuturePlay Box Office located on George Street outside the Assembly Rooms or at any Assembly, Gilded Balloon, Pleasance & Underbelly Box Office.

 

How much do tickets cost?

 

Our shows and events are priced individually and prices are displayed on the individual event pages. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to be the first to hear about ticket promotions.

 

What ages are the shows suitable for?

 

Please check the individual event pages for content warnings and suitability.

 

For very young children Assembly Festival Ltd operates a “babes in arms” policy. Babies and very young children aged 18 months or under are granted entry to a performance without a ticket, provided they are then seated in the lap of their accompanying adult and do not take up a seat for themselves.

 

Will I be let in if I’m running late?

 

The Virtual Reality Studio, Tech Zone & Immersive Gallery all run on timed-entry sessions; latecomers will be allowed in but you will not be given any extra time beyond your allocated timeslot. FuturePlay Sessions will allow latecomers.

 

Each show has their own latecomer policy so you may not be admitted after the start time. Please make sure you allow sufficient time to get to the venues before the performances start.

 

Can I cancel/refund my tickets?

 

We are not able to offer exchange or refund of tickets. The only exception if a show, event or session is cancelled. If a cancellation occurs, ticket holders will be offered seats at any rescheduled performance or alternate performance (subject to availability) up to the face value of the tickets, or a refund.

Are the venues accessible?

 

All FuturePlay venues are wheelchair accessible with the exception of:

 

  • Assembly Roxy Upstairs
  • Assembly Studio 5

Are pets allowed?

 

Assistance dogs are allowed in all of the venues but sadly no other pets are allowed.

 

What facilities are there nearby?

 

At our main FuturePlay Festival hub on George Street there is a bar, street food stalls and toilets.

 

Our shows are hosted at different venues across the city so please check the individual venues for details of local facilities.

 

How do I get there?

 

Our main FuturePlay Festival hub is located on George Street, between Frederick Street and Hanover Street (EH2 2LR). It is a 10 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Train Station and the central bus station.

 

The other shows that feature as part of FuturePlay are hosted at different venues across Edinburgh including Assembly Roxy, Assembly Hall & Georges Square all of which are within 15 minutes walk of Edinburgh Waverley Train Station and 25 minutes of the central bus station.
