Applications to perform in 2009
Applications for the 2008 festival have now closed.
Assembly is always interested in new shows and we are happy to consider work for the 2009 Festival. We travel all over the world looking for fantastic, great new shows to perform at Assembly year round.
Please submit your application either online or directly to the Assembly office:50 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LE. We do not use an application form but ask instead that you supply as much relevant material as you have available - script/DVD/reviews etc - and a covering letter indicating your preferred space.

Points of Consideration
Performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is quite a different and rewarding experience to performing elsewhere. Assembly is the most established venue at the Fringe and because we have fantastic staff and crew the level of service you will be provided is second to none. As a result we get enormous press and media coverage and many of the shows and performers that have been through Assemblys doors have gone on to be household names, we still cannot guarantee an audience. Competition for audiences at the Fringe is fierce. In 2006 there were over 2000 shows on offer. There is therefore a huge element of risk that each company, including ourselves has to take. Creating a realistic budget for your show is imperative. Aim to do more than break even and take on the mindset that the Edinburgh Fringe is the best showcase for live performance and therefore there is no better way of getting company exposure in the world! |
