Our two main venues in 2009 are the Assembly Rooms on George Street and Assembly Hall on The Mound. Within these venues we give you nine temporary theatres jam packed every day from 11am until 1am with the very best comedy, theatre, dance, music and exhibitions to be found anywhere on the Fringe. In addition Edinburgh's world-famous Royal Botanic Garden also plays host to Assembly performances from early morning until late into the evening.
Contact 0131 623 3000 if you need specific access information. As our theatres are temporary venues, built for the Festival, we aim to give reasonable access as much as is practical. You can email access@assemblyfestival.com to tell us about any specific requirements.
The Info Desk at Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, has a large print version of our brochure during the festival.
The elegant Assembly Rooms on George Street, in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town has been the focus of the Fringe for over 28 years and has played host to some of the world’s biggest shows and performances. Within the Assembly Rooms there is the Music Hall, Edinburgh Suite, Supper Room, Wildman Room, Drawing Room and Scott Room. With 2 public bars and a private members’ bar this is the hub of Assembly.
Until recently home of the Scottish Parliament, Assembly Hall is one of the finest buildings in Edinburgh and is the pinnacle venue at the Fringe. Within Assembly Hall we have three venues: Assembly Hall, Rainy Hall and the Baillie Room as well as the open-air Quad Bar. This venue has a fantastic atmosphere and the two Assembly banners can be seen for miles around.
